TO ALL WALKERS/DOG WALKERS:
Please keep dogs from digging or destroying any areas of the golf course. We have laid new sod in several of the fairways and have already had 3 instances of dogs doing damage to this new sod. The golf course is only available to walkers and dog walkers before 8:30 am and after 6:30 pm. Dogs are required by law to be on a leash when on our property. We politely ask for all residents’ cooperation as we have been working very hard to improve the golf course.
TO ALL GOLFERS:
Please note that carts are staged in the parking lot on normal days of operation. There may be certain days when special outings or events may take up the staging area for the carts. On those days, carts will be staged in the tunnel near the pro shop.
Please be sure to use your club to tap the sand off the bottom your golf shoes before walking on the green if you play your shot from a greenside sand trap. This helps to prevent “sand footprints” from being tracked across the greens.
We politely ask that golfers (and their guests) do not take the green towels that are provided in each cart. Please leave them in your cart following the completion of play.
Please help us to protect the golf course by RETURNING YOUR CART TO THE CART PATH as you approach the green. Carts must also remain on the path on PAR 3 HOLES and near TEE BOXES.
The WildeWood pro shop is offering re-gripping services. We have 12 different grips in stock and can order any that we do not currently have. Let us know if you would like some new “handles” for your clubs.
The pro shop has new Foot Joy and Greg Norman fall apparel in stock! Come in to get an early start on your holiday shopping!
TO ALL TENNIS/SOCIAL/HOA MEMBERS:
You have 6 rounds per year to play the WildeWood golf course for the Member Guest Rate. You are only allowed to use the practice facilities on those 6 days when you are paying to play. Daily use of the practice facilities is reserved for Full Golf Members only.
Guest Rate Monday to Thursday: $37 (includes cart)
Guest Rate Friday to Sunday: $47 (includes cart)
MAINTENANCE REPORT
Could September have been any better of a month? Cool mornings and sunny afternoons are the perfect combination for golf. With the cooler weather though, it is time for us to start looking towards our fall and winter protocols. As the soil temperatures start to slowly dip into the 60’s our Bermuda grass will begin storing carbohydrates instead of using them for active growth. For us this means we have fed them one more time on September 21 and we need to begin thinking about the Winter. We may still get a week or two of good growth but for the most part, the grass we have on the course now will be the grass that gets us to March.
In turn, we all need to be conscious of fixing our ball marks, filling divots, and where we drive our cart. With our increase in rounds played this year and the added number of carts per round it will not take long for areas to start thinning out, especially where we enter and exit the cart path. The agronomy staff will be utilizing ropes, barriers, and signage to help alleviate these issues. Also, towards the end of the month we will start using our cup liners again to extend the longevity of our pin placements.
We were still a little warm in September to start over seeding the tees on 3, 16, and the range but the seed is here and with the 10 day forecast we will likely begin that the first or second week of October. As I mentioned last month we will work with RJ to limit the disruptions to play and the use of the range but there will be about 2 weeks after seeding that we will need to get creative with a few tee placements and/or block the range for a short period of time each day. We certainly appreciate your cooperation. This month you can also expect to see our new pink flags on the course in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
We are looking forward to showing off our course in the first annual Wildewood Club Member-Guest and to some of the best juniors in the nation this month. As always, I would like to thank everyone for the continued support and look forward to seeing you all on the course. If there is ever any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to me at Grayson@thewildewoodclub.com.

Tennis for Tatas
Sunday, October 18 from 2pm-4pm The WildeWood Club will be hosting a breast cancer charity event at the Tennis Center. This event will have a ‘strictly tennis’ round robin format. Each player will be assigned a court upon arrival, to maintain proper social distancing, and will be rotate among players assigned to each court. Those interested can sign up as a doubles team or as an individual. This event is open to ability levels, men, and women. Entry fee is a $25 donation per person. Please make check payable to the Prisma Health Foundation, with a note to direct the funds to the WildeWood/Woodcreek Warriors Walk for Life Team. To sign up for this event, you can register at The WildeWood Club Tennis Center, or by email at Carolivey5@gmail.com.
Court Maintenance:
With the change in weather, comes a change in our watering schedule. In the cooler months we start reducing how much water we provide the courts in the evenings. Dropping the water times from 12 minutes at night during the summer to only 2-4 minutes in the fall. What this means is that our mid-day water is very important, and we will be reserving courts mid-day and sometimes well in advanced to make sure we can water in the afternoons. We will do what we can to make sure that there are two clay courts always open, but day of, if all four courts are open, we may book all four to get a uniformed water.
