TO ALL WALKERS/DOG WALKERS:

Dogs must be ON A LEASH when walking on the golf course. They are not to walk near any GREENS or BUNKERS at any time. Walkers/Dog walkers are not allowed to walk on the course from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

TO ALL GOLFERS:

Please return your cart to the area near the cart barn upon completion of play. This really helps our outside staff to be more efficient in the cleaning/sanitizing of the golf carts. We appreciate all the members who do this already!

Please be sure to use your club to tap the sand off the bottom your golf shoes before walking on the green if you play your shot from a greenside sand trap. This helps to prevent “sand footprints” from being tracked across the greens.

We politely ask that golfers (and their guests) do not take the green towels that are provided in each cart. Please leave them in your cart following the completion of play.

Please help us to protect the golf course by RETURNING YOUR CART TO THE CART PATH as you approach the green. Carts must also remain on the path on PAR 3 HOLES and near TEE BOXES.

The WildeWood pro shop is offering re-gripping services. We have 12 different grips in stock and can order any that we do not currently have. Let us know if you would like some new “handles” for your clubs.

The pro shop has new Foot Joy and Greg Norman fall apparel in stock! Come in to get an early start on your holiday shopping!

TO ALL TENNIS/SOCIAL/HOA MEMBERS:

You have 6 rounds per year to play the WildeWood golf course for the Member Guest Rate. You are only allowed to use the practice facilities on those 6 days when you are paying to play. Daily use of the practice facilities is reserved for Full Golf Members only.

Guest Rate Monday to Thursday: $37 (includes cart)
Guest Rate Friday to Sunday: $47 (includes cart)

MAINTENANCE REPORT

October was a tournament heavy month for us in the agronomy department. It was great to see so many guests on the course and to get so much feedback, both positive and negative. Though we still have miles to go, it is always a morale boost for the guys to hear from people who may not have seen the course since our new ownership team took control. Even between the 5 events we hosted this month we were able to get out our first of three fall/winter pre-emergent applications as well as our first of many round of Ryegrass seed on the driving range tee, entrance way and holes 3 and 16 tees. We will continue to re-seed these areas all winter as play chews them up. Also, in October we raised our mowing heights. I know there are a few areas of rough that might seem a little thick currently, but rest assured it will all start to mat down once we receive our first frost or 2.  We invested a lot into getting the turf to fill in and thicken up this first year and even though we still have some thin areas out there I am very pleased with the amount of grass we have going into our first sub 40 degree evening this week. With these lower temperatures you will get tired of hearing me ask that we spread out our cart traffic. It won’t take long with the added carts to wear the grass out, especially coming and going onto the path around tees and greens. We will continue to move our stakes and ropes to direct traffic but ask for your help as well.

This month you can expect to see us starting to re-claim much of our overgrown property lines. This will be a slow and noisy process that will begin with us bushhogging as much as possible initially before we come back thru with the chainsaws and cut back things that were too big for the mower. We will do our best to limit noise around play but also apologize in advance for the aggravation the loud machine may cause. The window for our second application of Specticle pre-emergent herbicide falls somewhere between the second and third week of the month and will hopefully help us stay a head of the Poa Annua we experienced last winter. We will also begin redistributing what sand we have in the bunkers. This will mean some days they may not all get raked as we keep the Sandpro pushing sand in whichever bunkers we are working on that particular day. Personally, I am excited for the cooler temperatures, frost, and transition back into project work. As always, I look forward to seeing you all on the course.  Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Thanks,
Grayson

Changes to our court reservation system:

Reservemycourt.com is currently going through a rather large change with their software and we ask that you be patient with this transition.  Right now, we are back on the old site and have not been given any news as to when we will be changed back to the new one.

We are constantly checking reservemycourt.com in order to transfer all reservations to the new site so that when we do get switched back we will be ready.  When it does go online we will send out an email.  Please double check your court reservations!  Thank you all for your patience throughout this process.

One pro tip with reservemycourt.com – The best internet browser to use for this site is Google Chrome.

Ladies Winter Fun League

We will be offering two great play options for our ladies this Winter!  The Ladies Winter Fun Leagues will be offered at 10:30am on Tuesdays and 6:30pm on Thursdays.  These leagues will begin November 17 & 19 and will go through the end of January.  This is a 10 week (with December 22 and 24 off) league, open to all levels.  Cost of each league is $25 per season.  If you would like to sign up for both leagues the cost is $40.  This will be a very fun and inclusive format, that we believe everyone will enjoy.  For more information or to sign up, contact Bill@thewildewoodclub.com.
