New General Manager/PGA Golf Pro & Director of Golf

New General Manager/PGA Golf Pro & Director of Golf

MESSAGE from The Wildewood Club on August 19, 2022.

Dear WildeWood Club Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we want to take this opportunity to inform all of you that we have completed the search and interview process for the new General Manager for the club. Thank you for your patience over the last six weeks, as we have worked diligently to identify the best candidate for this critical position representing your facility.

With great pleasure, we have selected Kyle Gregory to serve as our new General Manager/Director of Golf. We decided during this time of transition that it was important for your new General Manager also to be a member of the PGA of America. The golf component at WildeWood is vital to the long-term growth of the club. While we will add additional professional staff to the golf operation, Kyle will intertwine his overall responsibilities to allow for enhanced visibility within the department. Kyle’s official start date is set for Thursday, September 8th. He is excited to meet each and everyone one of you quickly as he begins his new role.

Kyle’s excitement and expertise in club operations were apparent during our interview process. Coming home to Columbia triggered his immediate interest in the position!

Kyle was born and raised here in Columbia, South Carolina, and is a graduate of The University of South Carolina. Kyle graduated from the Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management program with a specialization in Club Management from The Club Managers Association of America. Kyle is a member of the PGA of America and is a Certified Golf Professional in both General Management and Golf Operations. Kyle is also a member of the Club Managers Association of America and is working towards gaining his Certified Club Manager status.

Kyle has worked at many notable facilities during his career, including Columbia Country Club, Orangeburg Country Club, The Member’s Club at Woodcreek, and WildeWood (2017), and spent nine years with The Kiawah Island Golf Resort. During his stint at Kiawah Island, he spent four years as a First Assistant at The Ocean Course, home of the 2012 and 2021 PGA Championships. Kyle recently served as the PGA Director of Operations at Rock Hill Country Club.

Kyle has served the Carolinas PGA in various roles throughout his career as President of the Assistants Association and is currently serving on the Carolinas Section’s Education Committee. Kyle is an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan and is the proud father of two daughters- Camille (12) and Ellis (8). Kyle is extremely excited to be returning to Columbia and The WildeWood Club!

We feel very fortunate that timing simply worked out for Kyle and The WildeWood Club. The club will benefit immensely by having a strong professional like Kyle to lead the operations and represent this excellent facility. Kyle is a very hands-on leader to ensure his operations exceed industry standards in member hospitality, event management, business oversight, and overall member loyalty.

We look forward to him becoming an integral part of your WildeWood experience.

We needed to make the best possible choices for our day-to-day leader of the club. Finding the right fit takes time and energy. Your patience is appreciated as we work through assembling an excellent staff to serve our membership. We are excited for Kyle to join our team and are optimistic that all of you will enjoy him as much as we did during the interview and selection process.

Please join us in welcoming Kyle to the WildeWood Team!

Respectfully,

Del Ratcliffe, PGA
