December 2021 Newsletter
NEWSLETTER by Mike Biscotti, General Manager on December 1, 2021
A Message from the General Manager:
My last official day at the club will be Saturday, December 11. I will be returning the following weekend to be here for the Holiday Brunch with Santa.
It has been a pleasure serving as your Interim General Manager the last few months. With the addition of a Head Golf Professional and Membership/Events Director the new General Manager will have the key staff members in place to focus his efforts, with guidance and support from Pinnacle Golf and the Board of Directors on enhancing the facilities and the overall member and guest experience. I believe the club is positioned well to experience continued membership growth and long-term success.
December is going to be a busy month with the start of the remodel of the downstairs and a full schedule of events. The first phase of the remodel will begin on Monday, December 6th. This will require us to relocate the pro shop and food and beverage operations to the tennis center. Food and beverage service will remain there until the remodel is completed and the pro shop will move into the upstairs dining room after the first of the year.
The bar at the tennis center was not built to serve as a kitchen so the menu will be somewhat limited. Latonya will use her culinary skills and creativity to offer different sandwich options as well as prepare a variety of her wonderful soups. As for beverages, we will have available can soda, Powerade, can beer, wine, and hard liquor. The hours of service will remain the same, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm with the possibility of keeping the bar open later if the membership will support it.
As I mentioned, we have a busy schedule of events in December.
- Saturday, December 4 – Bat Mitzvah
- Saturday, December 4 – Toys for Tots Bike Build
- Wednesday, December 8 – John Pate holiday party
- Saturday, December 11 – Wedding and Reception
- Sunday, December 12 – HOA 7 holiday party
- Sunday, December 19 – Holiday Brunch with Santa
- Friday, December 31 – Members New Year’s Eve party
Clubs are built by friends inviting their friends to join the club. If you know of someone who is interested in learning more about membership, please contact Kimberley Bagley our Membership Director at kimberley@thewildewoodclub.com or provide her with their contact information and she will reach out to them. If you would like to invite them out to experience the club with you, let her know and she will be happy to extend them complimentary access to the club for the day.
Golf Course:
November was a dry month that allowed us to get some things done around the course. We have finished our winter pre and post emergent herbicide applications, mowed collars and approaches down, and started our brush work for the year. We’ve started on hole 1 and will work around the course cleaning out of bounds lines thru the winter. We’ve added a new employee with an extensive background in plant materials who has started working in our beds around the course. Next time you’re out, be sure to check out his work around 4 restrooms.
Over the next few months, we will work thru the course cleaning overgrown areas and picking up pinecones. We will also begin root pruning to help the thin turf areas around trees.
The biggest news is I am resigning as the Superintendent of The Wildewood Club. My last day at the club is Wednesday, December 8. It has been an honor to work with, and for you all in a time of such growth of the club and it is my truest hope that when we look back, we can say the golf course is in better shape today than it was when we inherited it 2 years ago. With your continued support of the agronomy staff, I believe this course has potential to be the best in area. Thanks again for the opportunity to be part of The Wildewood team.
*PLEASE TAKE CARE OF THE GOLF COURSE BY REPAIRING BALL MARKS ON GREENS AND TAKE A SAND BOTTLE WITH YOU TO FILL IN DIVOTS.

The Yellow Ball Clinic will run as normal due to the crazy schedules of our high school participants. Parents can still drop their kids off on a clinic-to-clinic basis at a slightly increased price. However, if we cannot get at least 4 kids signed up for each month, then we will cancel that clinic for the month.
